SAN JOSE Winger Tyler Toffoli missed Wednesday's practice with a lower-body injury, leaving his availability for the San Jose Sharks' next regular-season game somewhat in question. Toffoli was injured in the Sharks' game against the Colorado Avalanche on Feb. 4, with coach Ryan Warsofsky saying Toffoli absorbed a hit, possibly in the second period. Toffoli finished the game and was listed as having three shots on net and two giveaways in 14:59 of ice time as the Sharks lost 4-2 at Ball Arena.
Change is coming to every NFL team. There will be moves made in free agency and the draft, of course, but there also will be unexpected trades and player cuts. So far this offseason, there have been rumors about top stars Maxx Crosby, Kyler Murray and A.J. Brown potentially moving on from their franchises. But more shocking moves are likely to come.
After the skate, Blackhawks head coach Jeff Blashill provided a somewhat cautious update on Kaiser's status. He said Kaiser will not be available coming out of the break, but the coach does expect Kaiser to play again this season. That's good news. Kaiser, 23, ranks third among Blackhawks defensemen averaging 19:10 per game. He's emerged as a key part of the Blackhawks' exceptional penalty kill, averaging 2:00 per game short-handed.

Whether or not they can convince any veteran to take either a cheap or short-term deal remains to be seen, and many free agents might just want to wait it out and wait for a competitive team to get desperate.

This comes on the heels of one of the worst trades we've seen, and puts serious doubts into the direction of the Rangers. The letter said one thing, but the game lineups say another. Maybe there's some logic here, but it doesn't seem like Chris Drury and Mike Sullivan are in sync right now.
The Milwaukee Bucks have indicated to teams that they are keeping Giannis Antetokounmpo through the trade deadline and will start making other moves, sources told ESPN's Shams Charania. The news comes just hours before the 3 p.m. ET deadline and after several days of fielding trade offers from teams. The Golden State Warriors, Miami Heat and Minnesota Timberwolves were among the teams interested in acquiring Antetokounmpo.
Nylander has been out with a groin injury since January 15, after suffering it in the first period against the Vegas Golden Knights. The Maple Leafs have undergone an abysmal stretch in his absence, winning only one of their past seven games with a total record of 1-5-1. The Toronto Maple Leafs issues stem from a lot of different areas in the organization, but they all go back to one person in particular, Brad Treliving. Brad Treliving was hired to replace Kyle Dubas as the general manager back on May 31st, 2023. This will go down as one of the worst decisions made by the Maple Leafs, as his flaws are being shown, leading the Leafs to their worst season in a decade.
For a team that has generally owned the Magic historically, the Heat have now lost six out of their last eight games against Orlando. But none may have been as frustrating as how things played out in their most recent affair. The Heat held a nine-point lead over the Magic heading into halftime. Miami would be outscored by 20 points in the third quarter, and the Magic never looked back.
The Rangers are hosting a press conference at 1pm local time to introduce newly-acquired southpaw MacKenzie Gore. Gore will be joined by president of baseball operations Chris Young and GM Ross Fenstermaker at the presser, which figures to provide insight into last week's trade with the Nationals. In addition, Young and Fenstermaker are expected to field questions regarding spring training, which could provide hints as to whether the team is largely done adding for the offseason or if there are more moves yet to come.
Hollins had landed on IR on Dec. 27 with an abdomen injury. Up to that point, he had started 13 games and was third on the team in receptions (46) and receiving yards (550). He had been designated to return from IR on Thursday, practicing for the first time. At 6-foot-4 and 221 pounds, Hollins' large catch radius makes him a top option for quarterback Drake Maye on in-breaking routes.
Taylor, 27, has a small and unimpressive big league track record. He has appeared in 83 games over the past three seasons, split between the Royals and Mariners. He has stepped to the plate 83 times and produced a .205/.272/.260 line. However, he stole eight bases in that time without getting caught and has lined up defensively at second base, third base and all three outfield slots.

The Bruins placed left-shot defenseman Vladislav Kolyachonok on waivers on Tuesday for the purpose of sending him to Providence. The B's had claimed the 24-year-old Kolyachonok off waivers from Dallas on December 16 at a time that their blue line was hit by injuries but he got into only two games for the B's since then. Showing an eagerness to jump into the play, he nonetheless posted no points and was minus-1.
The Sharks will see how both stack up against the defending Stanley Cup Champions today. Last time these two teams met, it ended favorably for the Sharks. San Jose won 3-1 at home with Yaroslav Askarov making 38 saves in the win. The Panthers are 25-19-3 this season, sitting seventh in the Atlantic Division and fifth in the Eastern Conference wild card race. Florida is 5-4-1 in its last 10 games. It beat the Washington Capitals 5-2 on Saturday.
The Washington Commanders are in the midst of some substantial changes. Not entirely surprising when one considers the wreck that eventually became their 2025 season, but it's enough to put everyone on edge regarding their fortunes heading into the 2026 campaign. General manager Adam Peters has some tough choices to make. However, a respected Commanders insider believes there is one simple roster decision staring Washington's front-office leader in the face. And it's something fans have been shouting about for months.
